The Senate committee reviewing the ESOS amendments bill that would limit new international student visas to 270,000 next year had its final hearing yesterday. At that hearing, independent international education consultants pointed out serious flaws in the bill, asking that it be reconsidered. The government is nonetheless expected to push through the cap as early as January 2025.
