INSIGHT | Top source markets for student recruitment in 2025

Which markets offer the most potential for your international student recruitment strategies? We have explored the latest visa data from Q4 2024, and here are some actionable insights to help you identify and target new streams of international students.

Many source markets are showing mixed performance across key study destinations: Vietnam declined for Australia, but rose for the US; Indian students redirected to Australia; and China returned as a top-performing market for Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Growing markets like Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka are gaining momentum and deserve targeted attention.

In addition to focusing on markets with high visa approval rates, we also advise institutions to support and educate students on documentation, financial preparedness, and application quality - all of which can significantly improve visa success rates.
